Dead Magic was established by Filmmaker Dan Wagner in the Spring of 2019, while creating his first student short film, 'Frío Extraño'.

In the time since, he has made numerous films under the 'Dead Magic' label. Most notably the 2021 stop-motion film, 'Lichen and Twice the control of People', and 2022's, 'Quidecoe Dreams', Wagner's Senior Capstone film for Champlain College.

Wagner has also worked frequently with contemporary directors Steven Heron, Connor Randolph, and Evelyn Gustafson, being their principal film editor and composer since 2019.

'Quidecoe Dreams' was most recently selected by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine as part of the "Cinema to Schools" project which aims to showcase high-quality short films to Ukrainian schoolchildren throughout the country. The program will tour and screen from winter-spring of 2024-'25.
